so i'm back in toronto after a week long hiatus to the new york, philadelphia, atlantic city area. sorry that you guys had to read the same post for the last week. anyways lots to talk about.
traffic in nyc is complete chaos. its actually exciting because of it. think of the rules of the road as merely a suggestion. for instance, every time a light turns red, at least 5 cars continue through the intersection. police seem to just watch as if they've given up on trying to stop this. second of all it seems that new yorkers are better drivers and much calmer than toronto drivers. the stereotype of new york drivers horning and swearing at each other seems to be untrue. whenever ny drivers get cut off or cut someone off, they don't seem to care. maybe the ocassional horn. its like they expect to get cut off and cut people off, so its no problem. in toronto if you get cut off, you sulk about it for the entire trip home. i've also seen new york drivers pull right turns from the left most lane and all sorts of other high precision manoveres that toronto drivers have no chance at pulling.
nyc has cops on every street corner. and there are probably at least triple the number of corners than in toronto. the thing is, the police don't make you feel watched or uncomfotable. in toronto whenever you see cops, you try to avoid them.
in atlantic city i entered a poker tournament - $30 buy in, with top prize over $2g. ajk and me came in the top 20% - top 40 out of 200 + people, lasting over 3 hours into the tournament. i think i'm ready for the big time - online or cash games at casinos.
thats it from me for now.

i can think of atleast one more place other than nyc that has worst traffic conditions. at first it was amusing and exciting but after travelling the city for three weeks the traffic is just extremely annoying. despite the chaos they have got the best drivers in the world.
