while my friday post correctly called the ttc union's strike bluff, i must admit that i was checking the go train schedule today.

i will never buy anything from a telemarketer. i have nothing against them - my friends have worked as them - they do a legitimate job to support themselves. so that's why today i abruptly cut off the telemarketer after 2 seconds. it was a polite, but forceful "we're not interested". when you have no intention of buying its your duty to cut them off immediately. obviously it saves you time, but it also saves theirs - since they are paid on commission. i recall many times when the telemarketer had gone on talking 2 min before giving me a chance to say no. i do have reservations about my new cut off after 2 sec policy. i figure that one day when they tell me that "i've just won the grand prize" they might actually be serious.
