today i was working out and then my leg muscle suddenly tightened and stayed tightened. it was like permanently flexed. i was like handicapped for 10 min. interesting trying to walk.
which leads me to the following question. when do you give up your seat on the subway? my policy has always been to people who clearly have trouble standing or pregnant women/women with young kids. the latter is a bit more tricky, because sometimes its hard to tell if someone is pregnant or just overweight. i've weighted this situation this quite recently. i only want to give up my seat if she's pregnant. is it insulting to a person if you give up your seat to them because you think they are pregnant but they are really overweight? while some of you might say it would be just nice to let someone have my seat, the problem is that i live in a big city, and if i did this, i would be standing for 3 hours a day, 5 days a week. there has to be a line where my charity stops. like should i give up my seat to the guy in the business suit? or how about some girl - just because she's a girl? if you are a young healthy woman, and some man just gives up his seat for you.... you get the wrong idea. i pointed this out to my friend who claimed " chivalry isn't dead". yes it is. if i started pulling out chairs for her, holding her bags (nice things to do) etc, she would definitely get the wrong idea.

Let's see, chivalry, I guess it depends on how u wish to define chivalry now doesn't it... first off, giving up your seat on the subway... if somebody's really old... i suggest u do it... its better on ur conscience and if the subway suddenly stops, they cud be flying all over the subway themselves... as for pregnent... sometimes it is difficult to tell, iunno if they'll feel overly insulted, jus for the fact that they are fat, their legs may not rebel and give way and fall on top of you... up to you if u wanan be on the safe side... but my personal suggestion is to look like ur sleeping, nobody can bug u if they think ur sleeping to give up a seat, what type of a bastard wud they be if you were, or grab something to read, then u can say ur were oblivious to the surroundings... jus a couple of suggestions... either that or act like u haf a nervous twitch and ppl think ur crazy haha... as for chivalry, nothing wrong wif putting a chair in for somebody, I say stick to door opening, its not overlooked as the wrong idea and ppl still need to walk thru doors... personally I dont' move the seat for nobody unless its ur gurl or wat not... then it can be deemed as a "nice" thing to do haha... btw, I had this fuct up thing wif my calf the other day too, jus woke up and it cramped into the most retarded thing ever... cudn't walk and shit... probably don't care... but its all gud... Steve
