i've decided that i like silent rejections the best. i think quite a few people will agree with me. for example after you interview with a company, they say that they'll call you on "x" day. if they don't call you, it means you are rejected. investment bankers seem to have this right. this is better on the feelings than when consulting companies call you and then uncomfortably tell you that you are not the person. sometimes consulting companies email you to tell you that they are rejecting your resume. imagine dating worked like consulting companies. you get someone's phone number at a bar and tell them you'll call them. if you are non interested when the alcohol wears off, you call the person in a few days and tell them that you are rejecting them - you know just to give them feedback and make sure they aren't expecting anything further from you.
