in saturday's star, a coalition of 22 black community groups called for a separate set of rules for black people for things that include - schools, court system as well as skills and business development programs.

so let me get this straight - black groups do not want to be a part of canadian society. they want their youth to get special schools, court treatment etc. i am unsure why i am suppose to feel more sympathy towards black criminals as opposed to criminals in general. i am also unsure why i should be more concerned about struggling black students than struggling poor students, learning disabled students, struggling immigrant students, or struggling white students.

here is some harsh love.

first thing - let fund a history/enpowerment/inspiration program for blacks

in the united states, affirmative action was to balance what was reffered to as the slavery deficit. there was no slavery in canada. is there racism towards black people? yes. there is also racism to every other immigrant group to canada. the irish, italians, portugese and the chinese all faced racism when they first came to canada. the chinese were paid slave wages building the railways. the japanese were interned during ww2. all of these people rose and built communities through education and hard work.

fund parenting and family planning and support programs

its rare to find a single chinese female raising a child. there is a stigma to it in the chinese community. its time for the black community to make it unacceptable for their men to impregnant women and leave. black parents also need to take an interest in their child's education and know their where their child is - period. its obviously difficult when parents have to work 12 hours days. but i don't think society is going to step up and parent these kids.
