seeing it in real life is a lot more disturbing than seeing or hearing about it on tv. we're sensitized when we see things on tv, but i sort of understand why people can get so effected after seeing something traumatic. i didn't even see the whole thing on this one, but i'm still pretty disturbed.

don mills and finch today at 7:45am

i'm next to the window on the finch express bus and we are stopped at don mills. a bunch of people panic. i look outside and there is a man staggering before collasping in the middle of the street. apparently an suv hit the guy while making a right turn. the suv driver just sort of stood outside of his car and did nothing. the bus driver called for help on the bus' emergency line and ran out to see if the guy was ok. there were several other pedestrians directing traffic and trying to help the guy. let's hope the guy is ok. i want to commend the ttc driver for his actions and the pedestrians who stopped to help. it seems we never praise and only complain about ttc workers.

it also reminds me of a couple of months ago at university and college when a motorist making a right turn hit a cyclist and flipped the cyclist off his bike. the cyclist stood up to yell at the driver. it seems that these accidents are often caused by driver arrogance.
