breakfast at tiffany's - 6/10. it was an ok movie. sorry for my lack of appreciation for a classic and what many consider one of the the better films of all time. i needed the assitance of wikipedia and google to get a complete understanding of the theme and plot.

poker - i had a straight flush yesterday. when do you ever see that?

after a months of rhetoric, hydro one engineers finally went on a complete strike today. i'm not a part of this union, but if i was, i don't know if i would stand on the picket line with them. i'm not pro union or anti union. unions have accomplished much in the way of workers rights and safety, but they also protect incompentent workers and drive up the cost of labour.

as for the threat of massive power outages because of the strike - i have very little concern. nobody in my office, actively does anything to keep the power on. i used to live 30 min from san francisco. this happens to be located directly on top of the san andreas fault. california also experiences rolling blackouts. finally california is a terrorist target and you can monitor this threat if you can figure out the homeland security colour meter. in retrospect it was irresponsible of me not to keep the recommended 7 days of living supplies on hand when i was living there.

Comments:
we could just have ran up the street to costco in case of any disasters.
